Ninety percent of the data that exists in the world today was created in the past two years alone and in 2012, we generated around 2.5 quintillion bytes a day. This mass explosion of data – and our increasing reliance on it – is the subject of a new exhibition at Somerset House: ‘Big Bang Data’, that explores our complex relationship with data and how it is changing the world we live in.
